Current Design Inspiration : Vol. 1
Here’s what has me swooning at the mo’
Low. Chunky. Modern but warm. Minimal but interesting. Bit scandi. Very obsessed. I love seeing them in contrasting spaces - like super high ceilings with traditional mouldings and one of these chunks just being the perfect anchor in the room. I desperately wanted one for our flat but unfortunately the budget didn’t allow for the dream (isn’t that always the case?).
British design house, deVOL, is giving me so much inspiration at the moment. Their bespoke kitchen designs are both fresh and familiar - never obvious in design, always stunning in execution. Their mix of vintage elements with modern lines is EXACTLY what I am always looking to achieve. To design a home alongside them is a officially a dream of mine. Did you hear that, universe?
this fireplace (and everything else) by Timothy Godbold
The millwork, that herringbone brick, the way the marble hearth is flush with the gorgeous wood floor. So many well-thought through details work together to make this seem almost effortless (spoiler alert: it takes a LOT of effort to look this good). And if the pure beauty and simplicity of this fireplace isn’t enough… it’s in a BEDROOM. SwooooOooooon.
Handmade terracotta. So much history in this material. Painted or natural, I am so in love with the warm wabi sabi vibe they add to any space. Imperfect in the most perfect way.
line drawings and figure sketches
Our flat has an enormous hallway that wants to be covered from floor to ceiling and front to back in a framed line drawings. It told me.
I love seeing all these elements together. I feel like they could all coexist in the dreamiest of dream homes…..
Hope you found some inspiration here!
